Standing 3195 meters above sea level, Mount Dempo is the highest mountain in South Sumatra. Along with Mount Merapi on the island of Sumatra, Mount Dempo is the highest peak in the Bukit Barisan mountain range which runs along the island of Sumatra. After sipping a cup of hot tea in the morning, listening to the birds singing in the trees and watch the sun slowly rising on the horizon, is the morning and the perfect start to climb to the summit of Mount Dempo.

Located on the border between the provinces of South Sumatra and Bengkulu on the west coast of Sumatra, Mount Dempo is located in the district of Pagar Alam. As the name suggests Pagar Alam which means natural fence, in fact the whole place is surrounded by hills and mountains. It took about 7 hours of driving to reach Pagar Alam from Palembang and 15 kilometers from downtown Pagar Alam to Mount Dempo. The journey to the mountain will not be boring, because you will be pampered with a view of the cliffs and valleys are fantastic in shades of cool air. A vast tea plantations will greet visitors when Mount Dempo right in front of the eye.
